Fixed flame and gas detection

pH/ORP Sensor Selection Tool

Emerson’s new Sensor Selection Tool allows users to quickly and easily find sensors that meet their specific pH/ORP measurement requirements. The tool gives users the choice of General Purpose, Tough or Special Application sensors. Sensor information can then be reviewed for specification features, mounting details and other options. "Emerson offers the broadest line of sensors available with the most advanced sensor technologies. This is particularly true in pH where Emerson has been leading with state-of-the-art sensor technology for years,” said Linda Meyers, pH product manager. “With so many to choose from, the pH Sensor Selection Tool makes the choice simple and straightforward.”

Energy Responsible Tool provides operating economics and environmental impact data for pneumatic field instruments

The new Energy Responsible Tool provides a quick comparison of Fisher® pneumatic process control instruments based on each instrument’s energy consumption, operating costs and emission levels while at steady-state conditions. The easy-to-use online tool lets users compare like-kind instruments utilizing instrument supply type and pressure values. Data on Fisher (pre-loaded) and other manufacturers’ pneumatic instruments can be input to provide the comparison.  Results include a one-year or multiple-year operating cost calculation as well as each instrument’s emission level in tons of CO2.

Southern State Chemical case study

A new video case study shows how Emerson’s DeltaV digital process automation system changes the game with Electronic Marshaling and characterization module (CHARM) technology at Southern States Chemical’s Wilbara sulfuric acid plant. The Electronic Marshalling functionality eliminated complex cross-wiring, traditional marshalling cabinets and costly late design change headaches while saving the company 40% in wiring costs. Emerson expands cryogenic valve testing to meet growing demand for LNG applications

cryogenic valve testingEmerson has expanded the test facilities at its control valve manufacturing plant at Cernay, France, to include tests at cryogenic temperatures. The tests are suitable for Fisher valves being used for the growing number of applications in the LNG (liquefied natural gas) industry.  The new facility has two tanks for testing globle, angle, butterfly, and ball valves, and can carry out a range of tests at cryogenic temperatures down to -196º.  More about Fisher valves >

Emerson ramps up production of IEC 62591 (WirelessHART®) products

To meet growing worldwide demand, Emerson Process Management has increased production of IEC 62591 (WirelessHART) products at its Wessling and Karlstein manufacturing plants in Germany. Production levels for wireless devices have increased ten-fold since the start of 2010 and production will rise a further 50% in January. "This considerable rise in demand for WirelessHART technology can be attributed to growing confidence in the market place, an increase in the available product types, and IEC approval as an international standard," said Axel Krause, European Wireless Product Manager.  Click for more on Emerson's Smart Wireless >

Emerson's radar level transmitters available with WHG overfill protection approval

The Rosemount 5300 Guided Wave Radar and 5400 Non-Contacting Radar level transmitters are now available with approvals to the German Federal Water Act (WHG) regulations for overfill protection. Leading Thai universities to use Emerson's Roxar modeling software

Emerson Process Management is donating a number of licenses for its Roxar RMS reservoir modeling software to Thailand’s Chulalongkorn and Chiang Mai Universities. The donations are part of comprehensive research and education agreements between Emerson and the two universities.  Using the software, students will be able to build models for any reservoir, estimate reserves, plan wells and simulate past and future production.

University to use Roxar software as petroleum engineering teaching platform (September 7, 2010)
Emerson has donated its Roxar Tempest reservoir simulation software for use by University of Leeds students.  "Tempest software is the ideal tool with which our students can learn production simulation modeling," said Dr. Piroska Lorinczi, Lecturer in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering.  "It's extremely easy to use, has an excellent graphical user interface, and provides a streamlined and integrated workflow.  We are delighted to be using it as our preferred teaching software."
