Emerson’s new AMS® Suite release expands machinery monitoring with wireless vibration and advanced alarm management
AMS Suite: Machinery Health® Manager 5.3 adds Smart Wireless vibration data and enhanced autoplot capabilities to maximize production uptime through powerful machinery health monitoring

KNOXVILLE, T
ENN (June 8, 2009) – Emerson announces the release of AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager 5.3, part of its industry-leading asset management software. The new AMS Machinery Manager release expands end-user machinery monitoring by adding Smart Wireless vibration, new autoplot capabilities and advanced alarm analysis and management.

With AMS Machinery Manager 5.3, end users gain new insight into the operations of their critical machinery through the integration of wireless vibration information from the CSI 9420 Wireless Vibration Transmitter. In addition to wireless vibration diagnostics, process data from any WirelessHART™-enabled transmitter can be imported into AMS Machinery Manager. Part of a complete wireless solution for machinery monitoring, AMS Machinery Manager combines diagnostics from wireless devices with other machinery health information to deliver a complete picture of equipment health and reliability.

With AMS Machinery Manager, users experience a holistic view of machinery health in a single integrated application. Important device diagnostic information can be correlated from multiple sources, including online machinery monitoring systems, portable route-based analyzers, and wireless devices. With this comprehensive picture of equipment health, users can identify alerts that could impact production and drive to the root cause of persistent problems.

New alarm limit functionality in AMS Machinery Manager 5.3 allows users to easily reset machinery health alarms for in-depth analysis of impending failures. With new autoplot capabilities, plot data is displayed sequentially or as one plot at a time for both online and portable vibration data, so users can manipulate the data as needed to make informed decisions. Users can also easily access case histories, automated diagnosis, and logged machinery health notes to support decision-making.

A new infrared thermography module in AMS Machinery Manager 5.3 supports Fluke® Ti55 IR images. With this new import functionality, users can view and configure Fluke visual and thermal images. Improved IR reporting formats provide user-selectable items for inclusion within the reports.

“In today’s business environment, Emerson’s innovations and proven expertise ensure users maximize value from plant assets,” said Craig Llewellyn, president of Emerson's Asset Optimization division. “With AMS Suite, users gain powerful predictive diagnostics that provide a foundation for plant availability, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.”
