AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 16, 2008) – Emerson Process Management announces the appointment of Les Hastings as Senior Project Manager, based at Emerson's Ireland office in Cork. Hastings joins the recently formed International Projects group with responsibility to support customers through the concept and execution phases of large global projects across the Life Science industry.

"International project managers are primarily selected to engage with potential customers at an early stage in the project lifecycle. This mitigates risk and ensures optimum project implementation strategies can be adopted much earlier in the process than traditionally seen."

Hastings joins Emerson from Rockwell Automation where he was formerly Automation Manager, Manufacturing and Process Solutions, responsible for a team of more than ninety engineers and consultants delivering multi-platform technology automation solutions and Manufacturing Enterprise Systems (MES) to customers in the Life Science industries.

Hastings has more than 25 years automation project experience, including delivering numerous projects into biotechnology, pharmaceutical and healthcare facilities.  Les is also a member of the ISA in Ireland and has taken an active role in the ANSI/ISA–95 Enterprise-Control System as a voting member of ISA-SP95 during the development of the ANSI/ISA-95.00 Enterprise-Control System Integration standard.
