The ability to handle weak signals is the single most important factor for a reliable and accurate level measurement
Different process conditions such as the tank atmosphere, foam, turbulence and products with low dielectric constant will all decrease the returned signal such that the radar transmitter may lose track of the surface. The sensitivity, or the ability to detect very weak signals is therefore the single most important factor for a reliable and accurate level measurement.

Single port results in great losses
Other 2-wire radar transmitters use only one port in the microwave generation for sending and receiving tank signals.

Why do single port transmitters lose 75% of the signal energy in the microwave module?
