| Tank obstructions in the radar beam will unavoidably generate false-echoes which can have even greater amplitudes than the surface echo itself. Most other transmitters keep a list of echoes and simply select the largest echo compared to a masking threshold as the surface. This can cause the transmitter to lock on the ‘wrong’ echo resulting in erroneous output typically during filling/emptying cycles. | |||
