The Rosemount 3300 Series can be easily integrated to the existing architecture of your plant. It is a 2-wire device with support for Modbus communication, in addition to 4-20 mA analog or digital HART.

Modbus emulation
With the Hart to Modbus Converter (HMC), the 3300 can talk Modbus ASCII, ABB LevelMaster, Siemens and Kimray ‘Tank’ protocols in addition to the Modbus RTU. The LevelMaster emulation enables the 3300 to imitate the ABB Levelmaster protocol and be functional on an ABB system.

Modbus

  • RTU (RS-485)
  • ASCII
  • Level Master Emulation
  • Siemens Emulation
  • Kimray Emulation
  • HART tunnelling
The transmitter is easily configured remotely by using Rosemount Configuration Tools and HART tunneling over the RS-485 cables. This means configuration can be done on the ground, instead of climbing the tanks and connecting directly to the HART terminals on the transmitter.

    Bottom-line
Some of the benefits of the HMC, enabling Modbus Emulation and HART Tunnelling, are reduced commissioning time, increased safety for personnel as well as easier configuration.
