ET single-port control valves have balanced plugs and cage-guided trim for all general applications with process temperatures up to 316°C (600°F). They are available in sizes ranging from NPS 1 to 30 and pressure ratings up to CL600, with several different body configurations, including ET, EAT, and ETR.
ET: Globe body sliding-stem valve with push-down-to-close action
EAT: Angle body sliding-stem valve with push-down-to-close action
ETR: Globe body sliding-stem valve with push-down-to-open action
In small to medium sizes, these valves utilize a clamped trim design, meaning that the cage and seat ring are clamped into the body using compression from the valve bonnet. In large sizes, the trim is hung in the valve body and the seat ring is screwed into the cage. These valves provide up to Class V shutoff utilizing a spring loaded PTFE seal ring, which seals between the plug and cage. For tighter shutoff applications, shutoff can be improved to Class VI in small to medium sizes.
A range of severe service trims are available for noise abatement or cavitation control. Noise abatement trims help with aerodynamic noise attenuation in gas services and include Whisper Trim™ I and Whisper Trim III cages, and WhisperFlo™ trim. Cavitation control trims help prevent the damaging effects of liquid cavitation and include either a Cavitrol™ III cage for services without entrained particulate or a Dirty Service Trim (DST) set for services with entrained particulate. For more information about these severe service trims, visit our Severe Service webpage.
