DeltaV S-series

DeltaV S-series hardware adds I/O on Demand functionality to all the proven technology found in the M-series with "hot-swappable" capabilities, you can add controllers, I/O cards, field devices and workstations while the system is powered and running so you can expand and upgrade your system with no downtime.

The breakthrough I/O on Demand technology elliminates intensive I/O pre–engineering. Costs and concerns around single point of failure, marshaled cross–wiring, power and grounding of Foundation Fieldbus segments, and late project I/O and process design change orders can completely disappear.

DeltaV S-series Electronic Marshalling lets you land field cabling wherever you want it, regardless of signal type or control strategies. Each terminal block has a single channel characterization module or CHARM, which includes an A/D converter and signal characterization to distinguish between different signal types. This revolutionary approach removes the complexity of field wiring marshalling in your control system. Redundant CHARM I/O cards, communications, and power between CHARMs and CHARM I/O cards ensure system reliability.

The S-series' exterior hardware design delivers easy snap-in installation that prevents bent pins and over–tightening onto rails, and releases with the push of a button. The hardened shell's ventilation system protects against entry of debris and foreign particles that could short–circuit electronics.
