Dantorque actuators are suitable for use in a wide variety of subsea applications, including marine, offshore and oil and gas markets. The design of the Dantorque subsea actuator has unique features which enable the end user to reap the benefits of using a compact actuator, with significantly reduced weight and dimensions, therefore an overall cost savings.
Double Acting Actuators DTU
The basic operating principle of the Dantorque DTU type actuator is that the helical splined piston skirt produces 90 degree rotation as the piston strokes up and down between its stops. The DTU actuator converts hydraulic energy into a rotation, with an output torque proportional to the applied pressure. The output torque is constant throughout the stroke of the actuator.
Spring Return DTUS
The Dantorque DTUS type actuator is based on the helical spline mechanism of the DTU actuator. The mechanical spring return package is based on the belleville (disc) spring principle, which is well proved. Through this unique combination of the helical piston mechanism and the bellville disc spring principle, Dantorque provide an extremely compact package.
The main benefits of the DTUS are:
- Compact
- Concentric
- Balanced torque output
The key advantages are:
- Unique in-house spring design
- Optimum output torque characteristic
- Significantly reduced weight
- Reduced response times
- East of handling
- Simplified installation and retrieval
