AMS Device Manager communicates with all HART, FOUNDATION fieldbus, and WirelessHART devices supported by the HART Communications Foundation and the Fieldbus Foundation.
AMS Device Manager also takes full advantage of rich graphical capabilities, making it efficient and easy-to-use. AMS Device Manager capitalizes on recent enhancements to the international standard Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL). Read more about enhanced EDDL.
Device Downloads is an easy-to-use, one-stop source for device driver files used with AMS Device Manager. Use this procedure for downloading device drivers not included with a particular release of AMS Device Manager.
These device drivers have been developed by the device manufacturer.
These device manufacturers have tested and verified that their device drivers are compatible with the AMS Device Manager version indicated.
- Right-click the device description (DD) file that you want to download, and select Save Target As...
- Save the DD to your local hard disk.
- Locate the downloaded DD and extract the .zip contents. A folder consisting of the Manufacturer/Device Type name will be created. The DD files are contained within this directory.
- Ensure AMS Device Manager is not running (including all servers and applications, in a Distributed AMS Device Manager system).
- From the task bar select Start | All Programs | AMS Device Manager | Add Device Type Manually, and proceed through the wizard.
- Browse and select the Manufacturer/Device Type directory extracted from the .zip contents created during Step 3.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation
