Insight on Alternative Fuels 
Emerson has been chosen to automate
a new plant that will turn animal fat into high-grade synthetic diesel fuel.  As reported in the Austin American-Statesman, the Dynamic Fuels plant
 in Giesmar, Louisiana, will produce
about 75 million gallons of very-low-emission diesel beginning in mid-2010.

The article quotes Mike McAdams of
the Advanced Biofuels Association:
"This is the beginning of a great technology revolution in renewable
fuels. These guys are the first ones out of the box, and Emerson is one of the first technology companies that is right there with them."
