Course OV340-WIN

Overview

This course will provide students with a thorough knowledge of fieldbus applications as applied to an Ovation® system. Students will be provided with hands-on experience in implementing fieldbus architecture on an Ovation system. Foundation fieldbus will primarily be covered, with some discussion on Profibus and DeviceNet.

Prerequisites

A detailed knowledge of Ovation configuration, database concepts, control building, and graphics building is required. OV100-WIN and OV210-WIN as well as either OV200-WIN-3.0.X or OV200-WIN-3.1.X are required prior to attending this course.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, using the reference material provided, the student will be able to:

• Define and explore basic fieldbus architecture
• Implement an Ovation-specific fieldbus scheme and topology
• Build Ovation databse points for use in a fieldbus architecture
• Implement control loops in fieldbus and feed back to Ovation
• Configure Ovation graphics to function with a fieldbus system
• Analyze the timing of the system when fully operational
