Diver Installation
The Docking Stool for diver assisted removal and re-installation is used where a close interface between actuator and valve is feasible. A close interface is preferable in order to minimize dimensions, but in case high-stool and adapter stem is required Dantorque offers this solution too.
Unique orientation of the valve and actuator is ensured by the master spline in combination with a position dowel on the actuator bottom flange matching only 1 hole on the adapter flange. The bumper nose provides initial rough alignment during subsea installation, then the center hole in the adapter flange starts guiding the bottom member on the actuator and finally the position dowel kicks in.
Connection for flushing the stem cavity after installation is provided in the adapter flange.
A close interface is normally preferable owing to space savings, but in case hig

h stool and adapter stem is required, Dantorque offers this solution too. This is the Dantorque Mounting Stool.
ROV/ROT InstallationAs subsea developments move into deeper waters the facility to install and retrieve an actuator or gear operator by ROV becomes a requirement. By taking advantage of the concentric and compact design of the Dantorque actuator, ROV installation and retrieval can be achieved using current techniques and intervention tooling packages.
Remote Systems
- The actuator in the running tool ready for ROV assisted installation. Actuators supplied with clutch clamp feature allows the valve / actuator assembly to be installed with the ball of the valve in fully open position, whilst retaining the fail-safe spring return feature of the actuator.
- The running tool is lowered down and located on the guide posts.
- The actuator is lowered onto the valve stem.
- The lifting device is released by ROV and the running tool removed.
- The actuator is operated hydraulically until the clutch mechanism engages.
